Nuclear: Iran, it is up to Europeans to bring the train back to the tracks

The signatory countries of the 2015 Iranian nuclear agreement, in particular the European ones, instead of expressing concern about the resumption of activities by Tehran, should "respect their commitments under the agreement for bring this train back on track. " This was stated by Ambassador Kazem Gharibabadi, representative of the Islamic Republic at the International Atomic Energy Agency.

In a speech before the IAEA Board of Governors, the text of which was released by the Iranian embassy in Rome, Gharibabadi said that following the exit from the US agreement in 2018 and the reintroduction of heavy sanctions against the Iran, "unfortunately the Europeans have not respected their obligations". That is, they have not implemented those concrete actions that would have allowed Iran to keep the channels of economic cooperation and financial exchanges open with them. Therefore, the diplomat said, "asking Iran to fully respect its obligations, knowing that Iran has not enjoyed the legitimate benefits of the agreement, is neither a reasonable nor a practical approach".
Starting in 2019, one year after the US agreement ended and the US sanctions were launched, Iran has gradually exceeded the limits on its nuclear activities imposed by the agreement. But should the commitments return to be respected by the other parties with the lifting of sanctions and the respect of the commitments, Gharibabadi said, "Iran is ready to revoke its corrective actions".
