The beach that looks like it's made of popcorn

Fuerteventura, Canary Islands ' second largest, is known above all for its white sandy beaches, but few know that this island is also home to one of the world's most unusual beaches: it seems to be made of popcorn.

In many cases, the nicknames given to tourist places are inspired only by things that resemble them, but for which, even if only vaguely, a certain fantasy is required to see. This certainly is not the case with the beaches of palomitas de maíz, the popcorn beach of Fuerteventura. This incredible place really seems to be covered by millions of white and swollen popcorn, and some might think at first glance that this is real popcorn that somebody dumped there for some reason (after all, there are other cases where abandoned objects turned a beach into a show), but in reality the "popcorn" are coral stones, which also took that shape because of the wind effects.

Located at the end of a dirt road northwest of Corralejo, the beach is not one of Fuerteventura's main attractions (also because the stone popcorns are not as comfortable as the sand), the show certainly has a remarkable visual impact.

The beach has always been like this, but thanks to social networks it has only gained popularity in recent years.
