Brazil has exceeded 5.9 million infected with coronavirus, with a 71% increase in the average number of cases per day, although experts still exclude the arrival of a second wave of the pandemic.
Between Monday and yesterday, 32,262 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were recorded, bringing the total number to 5,909,002.
The moving average of the infected yesterday was 29,674, a figure which represents a 71% increase compared to the average observed two weeks ago.
The growth in the number of new patients has been observed in several states, including São Paulo, the most important in the country, as well as being the most affected by the number of deaths and infections.
Meanwhile, the state health secretariats reported that in the last 24 hours a further 676 deaths were reported across the country, raising the overall toll to 166,743.
