The bar that makes you "feel into a comic book"

Do you know "Take on Me" from the A-ha song? Also famous for his decidedly innovative music video of the time is this 1986 song: the main character entered the pages of a life-giving comic strip. Many still consider it one of the most beautiful music videos ever made: this experience seems to be reproposed in the real world by a place in Seoul.

Cafe Yeonnam-dong 239-20 is a unique bar located in Seoul's Yeonnam-dong district: it plunges patrons into what looks like a cartoon or a comic book.

Walls, floors, furniture and even the plates seem to come from a black and white comic strip, and the patrons stand out in an almost weird way, to the point where they seem almost out of place.

Cafe Yeonnam-dong 239-20 is located in one of Seoul's most trendy neighborhoods and has become world-famous for its original decor. The inspiration comes from "W-Two Worlds," South Korea's popular fantasy series, focusing on the clash between the real world and a fantasy one.

The venue opened in the second half of 2017, becoming one of the most "instagramati" places in Seoul immediately.
