Covid: Belgium, infections and hospitalizations still in decline

 The number of infections from Covid-19 in Belgium continues to decrease steadily and has now dropped below 4,000 cases per day, according to provisional data from the Sciensano Institute of Public Health. On average, from 11 to 17 November, there were 3,939 daily infections, or a decrease of 38% compared to the previous seven days.



The number of hospital admissions due to Covid-19 also continues to decrease by -29%, and currently stands at 344.3 on average per day (between November 14 and November 20). Since the start of the pandemic, 40,243 people have been admitted to hospital due to Covid-19 and 15,352 have died. The test positivity rate, or the proportion of positive people out of all those tested, has now reached 17.5% of the national average. In total since the outbreak began in March, 553,680 people have been tested positive for the coronavirus.
