Hurricanes: Nicaragua, 10 deaths so far

 MANAGUA, NOVEMBER 18 - Nicaraguan rescuers were at work today in the central-northern regions of the country hit yesterday by the passage of Hurricane Iota, which arrived on land with category 5 and then downgraded to a tropical storm in crossing today of Honduras. This was reported by the portal El 19 Digital, specifying that the Nicaraguan death toll has risen to ten.


    After the six deaths reported yesterday, the governor of the Matagalpa department, Pedro Haslam, announced that due to a landslide of vast proportions that struck in the last hours in an area of ​​the municipality of Tuma La Dalia, in the Peñas Blancas massif, there are other deceased people.
    The preliminary balance of the landslide, Haslam specified in statements on 'Canal Cuatro' TV, was of 15 people considered missing, but subsequently rescuers recovered four bodies (a mother with three children), and saved four people alive, while they continue the search for the other seven missing.
