Vaccines will not arrive in time to fight the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and many countries "will continue to have to deal with it without vaccines", warned the head of emergencies of the World Health Organization (WHO), Michael Ryan, in a social media forum.
"I think it will be at least four or six months before there are sufficient immunization levels everywhere," he said, noting that vaccines shouldn't be seen as a "magic potion."
"We have to understand and internalize this, and realize that this time we have to climb this mountain without vaccines."
