The WHO director general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said in the usual briefing on the coronavirus.
"The light at the bottom of this long, dark tunnel is getting brighter after the latest good news about vaccines," he added. "No vaccine in history has been developed this quickly. The scientific community has set a new standard for vaccine creation," he stressed.
